If your scheme has recently been refused SJM Planning can work on your behalf to appeal the Councils decision. First however we will review your proposals and advise on your changes of success on appeal. A more appropriate route may be to amend your scheme and resubmit to the LPA. In the instance where an appeal is the best route, SJM will submit your appeal and represent you throughout the process. Having appeals experience from both sides of the fence, SJM are well placed to take on your appeal. Please see our projects page for examples of our past experience.
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council
We were approached to put together a scheme for a replacement dwelling on this interesting site. The existing dwelling was a former 1800's toll-house and although not listed, numerous considerations had to take place during the design and planning process. Following pre-application advice, the subsequent application was surprisingly refused at Planning Committee. However, we did not give up, and following a successful Planning Appeal, the clients gained consent for their dream home.
Wealden District Council
Planning permission was refused at Committee for a first floor side extension which would have allowed this young, expanding family to remain in the house they loved. SJM Planning were retained throughout the planning process and subsequent Appeal, where we were able to successfully demonstrate that the proposal would not unduly impact the adjoining neighbours, nor would it result in an unsympathetic addition to the street scene. The appeal was subsequently allowed and the clients have commenced work on their new extension.
